Grammar Note

For numbers above 10, Tagalog uses a combination of the base number and suffixes. For example, 'dalawampu' (20) combines 'dalawa' (2) and 'pu' (a shortened form of 'sampu' or 10). When shopping, 'magkano' is used to ask about price.
